The brief:

Hone is a music website that allows users to narrow in on and follow their favourite genres of music. As such, the website interface needs to be flexible to accommodate many different styles of music, but still maintain some consistency to provide a user-friendly experience. I was asked to design user interfaces for the desktop and mobile app versions of the website. This was a student brief and the deadline was two days.

The solution:

Each genre within the site has a large customised masthead that represents the genre, and the colour scheme for that masthead dictates the colour overlay for the elements below - the albums, artists and playlists - so users are able to determine where in the site they are. A number of elements are repeated across the site to enhance the user experience through consistency, including a header with basic navigation, a location indicator and a social media sharing bar.
